DocsRunning Astri
Astri Network
Link your server with friends' servers, so a raider or nuker caught in one is dealt with in all of them.
What it is
A network is a group of servers whose owners chose to link them. When Astri contains a raider during a raid in one of them, or someone nuking it, every other server in the network deals with that account too, even if it hasn't joined there yet. It's for servers that already trust each other, like a group of partner communities. Nothing is shared with anyone outside the network.
What spreads
- Members Astri contains as hostile during a raid, in enforce mode.
- Someone Astri contains for nuking the server, in enforce mode, and an unverified bot added to wreck it. A bot that was already in the server and went wrong isn't shared, so one broken public bot can't be thrown out of every server.
- Shadow mode never sends anything. Honeypot hits, spam, Astri's quarantines of single risky joins, and anything your staff do by hand never spread.
- At most 100 accounts go out per raid or nuke. If one server sends more than three in an hour, it stops sharing by itself and every server in the network is told, in case something has gone wrong.
- Actions taken through a network don't count toward account standing.
What happens in your server
Your server uses its own raid punishment for hostile members, the one on the Punishments page or in /setup, for raiders and nukers alike. There's no network-wide setting.
| Your raid punishment | Account already here | Account not here yet |
|---|---|---|
| Ban | Banned straight away | Banned ahead of time, so they can't join |
| Kick, quarantine or timeout | Applied straight away | Applied the moment they join, for the next 30 days |
It all goes through a Network incident in your alert channel, naming the server and the raid or nuke the account came from. Your shadow mode, the owner, staff, trusted members and the full whitelist are all respected, and you can undo each action like any other.
The default raid punishment is quarantine, which can't be applied to someone who isn't in the server. If you want raiders kept out before they arrive, set your raid punishment to ban.
Undoing
If the server a raid or nuke came from marks it a false positive, or undoes the action, every server in the network undoes it too, and anyone still waiting to join is dropped. If your staff undo it in your server, that only affects yours, and Astri won't apply it again.
Setting up
Everything that links servers is for owners only, and each step asks you to confirm. You can do all of it in Discord with /network or on the dashboard's Network page. On the dashboard, asking to join, leaving, removing a server and letting one in also take a 6-digit code Astri DMs you, so a signed-in browser alone can't link your server to anyone.
- One owner runs
/network create, or presses Create on the Network page, and gives the network a name. - They run
/network invite, or press Invite a server on the dashboard's Network page, and send the code to the other owner. A code works once and lasts a day. - The other owner runs
/network joinwith the code in their own server, or enters it on their Network page. That asks to join; it doesn't join yet. - The owner who runs the network gets a DM with Accept and Deny. They can also answer with
/network requestsor on the dashboard's Network page. Both servers' alert channels hear the answer. A request nobody answers runs out after 7 days.
A network holds up to 25 servers, and a server can be in one network. /network status shows who's in it and the latest raiders. /network share off stops sending your server's raiders and nukers while still getting everyone else's. /network leave takes your server out, or withdraws a request, and the owner who runs the network can /network remove a server. If Astri leaves a server, it leaves its network too.
Privacy
Staff in each server of a network see the other servers' names, and which one an account came from. What's kept, and for how long, is in the privacy policy. Someone banned through a network appeals to the server that banned them.
